BIOSTRAINZ™ D is a powerful biotechnology break-through in odor and gaseous emission control. It can control odor and emissions from any organic source.

BIOSTRAINZ D is a completely natural and organic product that accelerates the decomposition process of organic matter, resulting in cost effective and rapid removal (not masking) of organic gaseous molecules.

BIOSTRAINZ D works enzymatically, breaking down odor causing and pollutant molecules into their simple inert precursors, upon contact.

BIOSTRAINZ D produces a broad spectrum of hydrolytic enzymes, that operate at very high rates of catalysis, due to the presence of BIOSTRAINZ’s proprietary “Super Catalase” enzyme. The result is a near instantaneous removal of the source of organic odors and pollutant molecules, at a molecular level.

The by-products of BIOSTRAINZ D are inert odorless compounds such as H2O, CO2 and N2. BIOSTRAINZ D is completely biodegradable and simply breaks down through natural decomposition.

BIOSTRAINZ D can assist with reducing airborne emissions of a wide range of pollutants, including concentrated greenhouse gases such as methane and nitrous oxides, from many sources. As such, using

BIOSTRAINZ D may assist organizations in achieving reductions in their overall carbon footprint, and may even qualify for the generation of carbon credit.

BIOSTRAINZ D is highly effective and fast acting at a molecular level. To achieve the full benefits of BIOSTRAINZ D, effective molecular contact between the BIOSTRAINZ D solution and the target substrate is essential.

On most substrates the molecule is degraded near instantaneously. Test data has shown an average effectiveness of 74% removal across a wide range of volatile organic molecules. In optimum delivery and operative conditions, this can exceed 95%.

Odors are typically reduced within minutes, and due to accelerated decomposition of the substrate, residual performance times can be up to 30 days.

Methods of Application

BIOSTRAINZ D is versatile in that it can be applied in many different ways to suit differing site requirements and existing capital equipment.

BIOSTRAINZ D is supplied as a dry powder and must be mixed into solution to activate.

To breakdown odor causing or polluting gases, the BIOSTRAINZ D solution must come into contact with the target molecule.

The most common methods of application for BIOSTRAINZ D are summarized below.


BIOSTRAINZ D can be applied via a spray across any odor causing substrate or area. Examples: solid waste, sludge, pits and sumps.

Directions for Use

  1. Mix BIOSTRAINZ D into water at 1,000 ppm or 2.2 lbs. into 250 gal. (1kg into 1,000 L).

  2. Allow 15 minutes for activation.

    1. If using fine spray nozzles, use filter bag or allow 30 minutes for activation with periodic stirring, and decant active solution to avoid blockage of nozzles.
    2. Spray across substrate to achieve coverage of up to 3,229 sq.ft. (300m2).
    3. Re-apply weekly or as required.

Direct Addition

BIOSTRAINZ D can be added directly to any odor causing organic liquid substrate. It will rapidly work to break down the odorous molecules and will assist with the rate of decomposition of the substrate material.

Examples: waste ponds, manure ponds, storage ponds and waste water treatment.

Directions for Use

1. Mix BIOSTRAINZ D into water at 1,000 ppm or 2.2 lbs. into 250 gal. (1kg into 1,000L).

2. Allow 15 minutes for activation.

3. Spray into substrate material to achieve a final concentration of BIOSTRAINZ D of 10 ppm (0.4 oz./10gm per
ton, i.e., spray the 250 gal./1,000L of solution onto up to 100T of waste).

4. Mix thoroughly.

5. Re-apply monthly or as required.

6. Preferably apply BIOSTRAINZ D as early in the waste stream as possible.

Low Volume Misting

BIOSTRAINZ D can be applied via a high pressure low volume atomized mist into an odorous airstream or into a volume of air.

Examples: exhaust stacks, industrial stacks, restaurant extractor exhausts, enclosed spaces, entry foggers, waste transfer and sorting stations.

Directions for Use

  1. Place BIOSTRAINZ D into Filter Bag and suspend in water reservoir at 1,000 ppm or 2.2 lb. into 250 gal. (1kg into 1,000L).

  2. Allow 30 minutes for activation.

  3. Ensure adequate inline filtration to avoid blockage of nozzles.

  4. Apply solution at 5-10 ppm or 0.17-0.35 oz./cuft (5-10 gm/m3) of air volume to be treated.

  5. Apply continuously or as required.

  6. Replace BIOSTRAINZ D in reservoir every 48 hours or as required to maintain dosage at 1,000ppm.

Water Scrubbers

BIOSTRAINZ D can be added directly into the reservoir of a water scrubber, to substantially improve its effectiveness at removing odor and pollution. This also has the effect of extending the service life of the water, reducing consumption, and improving the quality of final water discharged from the water scrubber.

Example: industrial water scrubbers.

Directions for Use

  1. For closed circuit systems, place BIOSTRAINZ D directly into water scrubber reservoir at 50 ppm or 1.75 oz. into

    250 gal. (50gm into 1,000L). Ensure adequate circulation.

  2. For open systems with continuous water exchange, place BIOSTRAINZ D into Filter Bag and suspend in water

    reservoir at 50 ppm or 1.75 oz. into 250 Gal (50gm into 1,000L).

  3. Allow 30 minutes for activation.

  4. Replace BIOSTRAINZ D in reservoir every 14 days or if water scrubber is unused for more than 48 hours.

    1. Monitor air quality and water quality to determine optimum period for water exchange. Re-apply BIOSTRAINZ Deodorize

      when water is replenished.


BIOSTRAINZ D can be applied to biofilter media to improve its ability to remove odor and pollutants, through the establishment of a beneficial microbial population, with the ability to excrete the powerful BIOSTRAINZ enzymes to degrade molecules.

Example: Biofilters

Directions for Use

  1. Mix a quantity of BIOSTRAINZ D equivalent to 10% of the weight of the biofilter media.

  2. BIOSTRAINZ D can be spray applied to media by putting BIOSTRAINZ D into solution, allowing 30 minutes

    for activation and spraying to media.

  3. Ensure moisture content is continuously maintained at a minimum of 20%.

    1. If biofilter media is allowed to dry, re-apply BIOSTRAINZ D following point 1 above.
    2. Re-apply BIOSTRAINZ D to biofilter media every 14 days or if biofilter is unused for more than 48 hours.
    3. Monitor air quality to determine new service life of filter media and to optimize dosage of BIOSTRAINZ D.

Store in original packaging and keep in a cool, dry location out of direct sunlight and humidity to maintain shelf life.  Once opened, BIOSTRAINZ D must be kept in a dry and airtight container to prevent activation.
